Mission Statement
As part of the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix, Stories in Medicine was created to promote among medical students and health professionals a place to reflect upon the intricate role that medicine plays in our daily lives and those of our patients. Through the art of writing and shared stories, we promote the expression our voices of compassion, integrity, empathy, and resilience as we aspire to be advocates for our patients.
Vision Statement
Our vision is to create a community of collaboration where we can openly observe, listen, learn, and understand one another and our own experiences. By fostering this environment, the concept of humanism can be more strongly rooted in medicine through the many forms of reflective writing and art.
